Lo walks students through each of his tools, the placement of the tools, the reasoning behind the workflow. This video lays out the foundations for the structure of his classes.

Starting with a simple subject, Lo eases his students into the course with glazing. Learn how to create a vividly colorful painting from a grayscale base.
- Painting in layers part 1 (45 min)
- Painting in layers part 2 (87 min)
Building on the “painting in layers” technique developed by Jan Van Eyck. Lo will demonstrate and share his creative thought process as he paints a hyper-realistic portrait of a Syrian boy.
- Alla Prima (78 minutes)
Alla Prima is a technique created by Peter Paul Rubens and adapted and expanded by Rembrandt. Lo will take his students through this process and explain each step in detail with his work, Sir Churchill.
